Well, I think everyone does this kind of tricks to earn things they want. Of course, I do it too.
Every time when someone offers me something, I refuse it for few times. When they are still willing to give me the thing, than I accept it because people say refusing things for lots of time is rude in Korea. So generally, I refuse it like twice or thrice. And if adults or someone else still offers me, than I accept it. But this is more like a culture in Korea. In Korea, it is polite to refuse few times before accept it. But also if you refuse too much, that is considered rude too, which really confuses me.
So I think if we do something like this, it is affect of Korean culture. I don't know if other countries also have this kind of rule or culture.
I'm pretty sure, most of you guys experienced this every years. In new years. I always do this after long day holiday when i go to my cousin's house, and come back to my home. My cousins someone like my uncle and aunts always give me money when i go back to my house. I always say no(well maybe most of you guys say no at first) when they give it to me, but they just give me the money because even if i say no to them, they just keep saying to get that. Also if they really do not give it when i say no, it just feel little strange lol
Yah I do that all the time, I want to show people that Im not greedy and be all "no no I don't need it it's ok" but usually I end up not taking it, because the other person gives up, which makes me really angry because I wanted it! Grr haha
Haha...this happens to me ALOT. Like on lunar new year, my grandma and grandpa gives me money, but i refuse it...however they just tell me to take it. AND it happens on regular days when my aunts and uncles come visit me...whenever we are out, and i see something i want, they see me seeing it and buy it..although i refused...and then i say thank you.
