i've been reading this play and annotating it and oMG! it is so confusing and so dramatic. ok, ok, nobody get offended or mad that i do not appreciate this fine work by Shakespeare. i personally would much rather read a modern version of this play. it would be much more easier and fun. i also hope that maybe we can watch a modern play. KOREANS! RESEARCH! ok, i'll research too...yeah...so what are your thoughts on Julius Caesar?

Well, I think that Julius Caesar is a careless and free man. It seems that Caesar is spending his life with ease after he defeated Pompey. I think that Cassius wants to kill Caesar because if Caesar comes to power, then the future of Rome will be dark due to the fact that the king is a carefree person. I also think that Caesar is a man with a lot of pride because before he went to the Senate, Caesar was persuaded by Decuis Brutus that if he didn¡¯t show up for the Senate, then people will look down at him with eyes of disappointment. Caesar thinks that if he doesn¡¯t show up the people of Rome are going think that he is a wimp, and also his pride won¡¯t allow him to be named a coward.

I think you're talking about the play and not the character so i'll talk about the play. honestly, it is a bit fun and interesting. it's just that it's so hard to understand in the old english it's written in. i'd be barely able to understand it without the translations i read on the web. apart from that, it's all good. it's quite interesting to see how shakespeare effectively contrasts the characters with their personalities. also, its interesting to see how the characters use each others personalities to get what they want.

For me, this play Julius Caesar is kind of hard to understand because it is in old English. But I still think that this play is quite interesting, because it includes betrayal. If we don't get some parts of the story, we could go and search on translations. It would be better if we read in the translation version, but it's still for us to study so.. yea

This play is sort of fun but old english really makes it hard to read and makes it sort of boring as you have to look up words in order to understand the play. SOme parts are borring and some parts can be exciting. IT would be great if it was translated veersion rather than old version.

Wow, I was actually surprised that some people actually enjoy this, no offense. Because I don't really enjoy this. Well, to be honest, Act 1 scene 2 and 3 actually interested me. I read it without stopping it or looking at the clock. But overall, it is too hard and boring for me. Old English is one of factors that tire me out. I have to search for like tons of words to understand. But good thing about this is that this help us to write annotated reading. If you have nothing to write on the book, just look for the definition of the words and just write it down to fill the blank.
I wish it is easier to read. But I think I improved in reading this, because the words I don't know diminished a lot and I could actually understand. If I don't understand, I went to Sparknote summary and analysis. Anyway, this is what I think.

I guess, the fact that we're reading old/ past English make it double hard for us to read and analyze. Sometimes while reading I misinterpret the meanings of the word or I misinterpret the situation, and I realize it when we are talking about in class.
However, I think that reading old English help growth in knowledge and I'm somewhat greatful that we have a chance to read Shakespeare's stories.

Yeah agree that its extremely difficult to understand the play since it is in old English. I think that even if it was in modern English wouldn't really enjoy the play still because it is mostly about politcs. I think that people who know about political stuff must enjoy this play, but I don't like it. But who knows, maybe t will get interesting soon

This play is absolutely hard for me. While I was doing the annotated reading, I would have to open sparknotes very often to make sure that I am following along with the story. The old english stuff is KILLING ME. But I think the plot of the play is kind of easy to follow along.

I absolutely agree with you that we should read the modern version of this play instead of some old english version. And I really think it is a good idea to watch this play as a movie that would help us much better understanding it when we're having a hard time understanding this play. I think this play is written really well but sometimes, thing just doesn't make sense. For example, Brutus changes his mind so easily by the stupid letter. And so on... anyways..

It is yes really hard to understand Shakesperean plays. i do too have alot of hard times to understand this. But, after i search up words that i dont understand, i understand it at least a little bit. I think Shakespeare is a genius to think of a play like this.to make a play like this, you need to think alot and have to know the consequences and all that. So, making a perfect play like this is really cool

well Julius Caesar in my opinion, is a great story, the themes of the story are very interesting. However what i dislike about the story is just that it is so hard, just because of the different language, it is so hard to understand the main theme.

I usually dislike reading old English plays, except this one. I like this play because there are a lot of interesting themes, symbolism, metaphors, and character analysis, so we can write a lot of comments on them, which makes annotating much easier for me. I also like this play because the story plot itself is a little bit tense.
