I think it was hard for us to understand the sonnets because the vocabularies were not the words that we would use in our daily lives. Also, it is like a poem so it has some deep meanings.

I think it is just matter of view point. If Shakespeare writes poem on man's view point, dedicated person can be she. But if he writes poem on woman's view point, it is most likely to be dedicated to man, which is he. I think this happens a lot in the story or novel. Depending on the main character, the other protagonist changes.
There is another idea that Shakespeare is homosexual. If it is the case, than the dedicator can be either man or woman in Shakespeare's perspective. One thing that I am sure is that the writer is a man.
