i think humans are important to nature if you look at the bright side humans have done good things to the nature i know there are some humans who have harmed nature but not all humans are the same there are some humans who have a heart and they do save the nature and do good things and the people who have harmed nature basically they are insane people and they don't have a heart.

I came here after watching Kevin's video of 'the small blue dot' and I think that humans are not that important. We are a small species that live in a small dot. If we become extinct, nature will still grow, and even spread further than it is today. If we go extinct the universe will remain the way it is right now. We are too small to make a difference with the matter of our existence.

I've already mentioned that the human existence is absolutely not insignificant on sergey's post. Our existence is important. What I think is that every single organism that once lived in the Earth is important. You know we talked about the butterfly effect. One single butterfly's flapping of the wing's can make a huge hurricane or something later on in different place. Just like that, Our everyday choices are affecting a big part of nature, history, and about what's going to happen in the future. Even though we as human can be dissapeared(die) so easily, we leave our trace that we once lived in this world. And again, we as human really changes many many different things in the world. Some in bad ways and some in good ways.

I think that humans are important. We are important because nature needs us. Of course, we wreck the nature a bit...much at times, but we also care for them. We plant new trees for animals and for oxygen, but also for cutting down and making paper....we water the plants for them to live. We care alot for them. We feed animals at times when they need it. Some dogs could not survive without us. I agree with Kevin and Jisu about we are important to humanity and not to the nature...only a little bit.

In my opinion, I think humans are important because if humans didn't exist at all, the planet Earth would have been like just a planet that has animals and plants. I think the planet Earth is considered as special in the Solar System because humans live in the Earth and interact each other. Even though humans destroy the nature to develop our society, I still think that humans are important.

i believe that humans are important because without humans there is nothing, humans can control and rule the world better than anyone can, everything in earth is important, animals, nature, humans in my opinion.

some people say that humans aren't or shouldn't be important because humans destroy nature, well not all humans are bad, some are nice and prevent nature from those bad humans.

hmm...I don't really think humans are important. We are only one of the organism, and I don't think the food web will destroy by all human's death. We are only one animal in the Earth like dogs and lions. The only one thing we are different with animal is we can think, and we can control ourself. We are developing our culture, but giving pain to Earth. Even if all humans die, food web won't hurt that much b/c we are on the top of food web, and other animals will be other top of food web instead of us. In food web, there is not only one way to go, every animal have at least more than one types of food for live. So I think the food web doesn't really metter

I agree with you Munisa! I also think that human is a little more important than other living things, because MAYBE without human in this world. It could be a really wild/cruel world. I don't know that's just what I think O.o

I disagree with this theme. If you ask that is people important? this is as same as "Is the world important"? people who are everything in this world that they can do everything to it. In the past, people didn't only negatively affect to the nature but also make it better. At the current, people change and negatively affect to nature but they can do as what they did in the past and make it better, again.
