My reason is because they can do almost or perhaps actually everything they need to do with their TV's. TV's might become so developed that you can internet browse, order online, communicate with others and so on. All of their needs can be done through their TV's. Maybe even their work. So eventually, they don't have to move around.
As for not going outside, maybe global warming is the problem. The atmosphere outside is toxic that if exposed too long, it can cause serious health problems. In the case of Leonard Mead, maybe he took a mask outside and because police men can't always stay outside, they use robots instead because the air doesn't effect them.

I think they decided to stay inside because the technology they had inside was far more interesting than anything the Great Outdoors has to offer. Perhaps that's why they decided to just stay inside to conserve their energy. It's sort of how for most people, the computer is their favorite choice of entertainment cause it can do everything a television can do and is more efficient. They decided that going outside was too much of a hassle when all of their technology can do everything for them.

I also got another idea, i think people just stay home and watch tv because people will become really lazy since they dont have to leave the house and as the society gets tougher and tougher the possibility of depressive disorder will increase and eventually theyll just refuse to go out and refuse to interact with people because they are afraid that they might get their feelings hurt or idk... Something like that

i agree with what daniel says about tv being supplied to households then and then people gets addicted watching it. and about woojong saying that tv is addicting and u would want to keep watching more and more...technology just does that to you...it tempts u and u want to do more of it, so u cant stop at all.

Im still gonna answer this, even though the presentation is over I think that global warming and pollution made sense to me. Eventually, the Earth will be very dangerous to human beings, so they often just stay home. If everyone stays home, then businesses will shut down and all stores will also close. In that case, people can just watch tv and live their life on the internet. With the developed technology, they can create robots to do for them. Robot polices...... i think they created them to eliminate people on the streets. The cops are probably at home watching tv.
