In our new quarter, we are studying about Julius Caesar I think. It is written by Shakespeare obviously. And I think I am going to suffer a lot reading these old english. I had hard time already today because I didn't know so many words.
So what I want to ask is what do you know about Julius Caesar? Both history and Shakespeare's version is fine. I think this will really help us before we read about Julius Caesar.
I was Julius Caesar in last year's variety show but I only know that he died on Aye something 15th of March and Brutus killed him with Senates or some sort. I think I don't really know about his life. Things you can find in the textbook is what I know.

I know that Julius Caesar was a very important political figure in Rome, but he didn't become king because the Romans had had some really bad kings in the past and refused to crown him king because they were scared that he was going to go down the same path. I would guess that he had a lot of influence because a lot of people wanted him dead, but then again, persuasion is one of the main themes of the play, so it could have been just the work of one powerful enemy.

Well, everyone in World History should have learned about him so here's what I know. He was and emperor of Rome. He ruled Rome as a triumvate (a rule by three people) with Pompey and Lepidus i believe. I don't remember what happened to Lepidus but somehow he got kicked out from the group. Pompey on the other hand, he fell in love with Cleopatra and Caesar framed Pompey as him planning to overthrow Rome to get rid of him which he successfully did. Also, during the time this happened, he made many successful conquests in the regions of Gaul so he got really popular. He later reformed Rome as a Republic and ruled Rome for quite some time but as his senators got jealous of his power, they stabbed him, each 28 senators stabbing 1 time, including his grandnephew, Octavian who became the next emperor.

Well, I had read a cartoon about him before and his full name is Gaius Julius Caesar and he was a Roman general. He played a critical role in the events that causes wars that led to the rise of the Roman Empire and the peasants or lower class citizens really supported him.

As from what I learned in World History class, Julius Caesar had become a good and powerful general by satisfying both plebians (low class people) and patricians (wealthy people) in Rome. Then, he went to Gaul, or present day France and fought against Pompeii, a general who condemned him. After that, Julius Caesar came back to Rome become an emperor who has an absolute power. Soon later, Julius Caesar died by getting stabbed by 28 cruel senators, who thought that he had too much power.
By watching the movie watched, I learned that his friend, Brutus(?) was a good friend of Julius Caesar but betrayed him and led the murder.

I know just as much things about Julius Caesar as you do. I know a little bit about what happened before Julius Caesar came into power from what we learned in World History. Julius Caesar was a really popular general and soon he became the leader of the empire. But he had a few people that didnt agree with his decisions and later he was killed by being stabbed about 18(?) times. This is basically what I know about Julius Caesar.. I bet everyone knows this though..

All I know about Caesar is that he said the famous quote, "Veni, vidi, vici" (I came, I saw, I conquered) Well we learned a little in Ancient World History class. He was a famous general of Rome who was popular among commoners. When the senates ordered him to disband the army, fearing his power, he and his army refused to because his soldiers trusted Caesar.

Julius Caesar was a governor of Gaul (modern day France). He then became the emperor (like a dictator) of Rome, reforming it as a republic. He took care of low class citizens by granting citizenship, creating jobs for poor, starting colonies where people can own property, and increasing pay for soldiers. He was stabbed to death by 28 senators, who were afraid of his increasing power and popularity. (Source: World History class)
