I went to Ms. Boyd's website and found out that there was no synopsis for 3rd quarter. Today, which is monday, is first day of 3rd quarter and I want to know what do you guys want to learn in English class this quarter. I am pretty sure we are going to study about Julius Caesar. And I wish we don't need to write essays about it, since I am really bad with analyzing poems or stories written in old english.
This quarter, I want to learn something fun such as science fiction, teen fiction. I would like to read biographies if the main character had really interesting life. So what do you want to learn in this quarter?

I'd like to read some science fiction too, especially those like Harrison Bergeron and The Pedestrian because it's entertaining to see what the people thought the world would be like today or what the world could might be in the future. It's always fun to see some possibilities of our future that I've never expected.
Also, I think it would be interesting to read biographies or autobiographies of famous successful people and see what factors were necessary to establish their fantastic lives.

Well i personaly think it's really good to read books you suggested Lin, but I think it's better to read old english because we actually can get good examlples to use for essay or for other things from old english rather then romantic novels, sci fi, fantasy books.

The first thing that came up was Arthurian Legends. Let's read about King Arthur and the Knights of the roundtable! I've seen that legend come up twice now, once in Monty Python's Holy Grail movie and once in Ace Combat Zero. It's the first thing that leapt to mind when Stephen mentioned old english.
Speaking of Old English, some of the "old" essays might be very useful. It will be refreshing to stop seeing "thing" be used in reference to nondescript ideas, people, objects, and places.

For this quarter, like Luke, I also want to read more scientific and even futuristic stories like Pedestrian or Harrison Bergeron because they are simply interesting. I don't love Old English but it's still challenging. But I really enjoy being involved in activities related to the theme of Shakespeare and his work, Julius Caesar, for example, like interpreting one scene in different genres. I don't know, I hope we have more activities and fun.

In the 3rd quarter i would really like to read about more historical stories. Us learning, and reading about Julius Caesar keeps me interested because it's a story about the past. And stories about the past are interesting and fun to read or learn about, because when we read about them we can compare and contrast. Especially trying to connect it to today's society is what keeps me interested.

I would like to read science fiction, nonfiction, mystery (like Area 51), and biography of important person. I like to read something interesting, since we read mostly classics. It will be interesting to read them because are entertaining and we can concentrate better.

In this 3rd quarter, I would like to read some science fiction stories and romantic stories because those two topics are my two favorite ones. When the stories are interesting for me, I tend to read faster than the boring ones because I want to know what is going to happen in the story.

First, im ok with anything but that is written in old english or poems(which we are doin now..), just like you, im not really an expert in those kind of categories. What i want to learn about this year is just like most of you guys mentioned above, science fiction or something that will be really interesting rather than just boring and "hard to understand" things or i think ill be fine with fantasy, its really interesting because things that we cant expect comes out from the fantasy because its app based on the authors creativity and its usually fun to read. And biography or autobiography of some successful people would be really interesting too.

For this quarter, I would want to read romantic comedy or comedy stories. I really like comedy stories, especially romantic comedy stories. It sound a little gross or childish to like romantic comedy, but I do really enjoy reading those stories, and, at least it's better than stories like Julius Caesar or biographies of some authors. So I would really like it if we read comedy or romantic comedy stories!
