This brief biography explained the influence that the Battle of the Bulge had on Kurt Vonnegut’s works. In addition, it explains the spark of Kurt’s writing career with the book, ‘Slaughterhouse Five’ which was influenced greatly from Kurt’s own experiences with the war, like being imprisoned.

1. Kurt Vonnegut was greatly influenced by World War 2. Even after the war, the memories about it hunt him down, so he wrote many stories about the war. He wrote the stories about it during the war, and even after the war. This clearly shows that Kurt was greatly influenced by it.

This site was a longer, slightly more in depth biography regarding Vonnegut’s personal life as well as his writing. It pieces together his family situation with his style and focus at the time as well, giving new insight into Vonnegut’s life.
