We talked about what gothic means in class today and it most of us seemed to have a general idea. It's not like we learned it from a class or anything but probably from other experiences. So where have you experienced or seen gothic things? In a movie, book, certain place, where?
For me during my college tour in the states, i visited Chicago University and the whole campus was quite gothic. It looked dark, old, grey, and especially, it had gargoyles here and there. Even the instructor commented about the campus's gothic style. So eventually, i came to a conclusion that I don't want to go there...It was just too old style for me...Anyways, this is one of the places where I've seen gothic things. How about you?

There is one movie I'll like to point out I guess have Gothic atmosphere which is Batman Begining. Threw out the movie it tells how Batman becam Batman. In the movie they show a old architevture where Batman's grandfather used to let slvaes run away and it is in a cave which looked like it was very gothic. Also the building in Gothem city looks very Gothic in the movie do to style those building was built.

I've seen many gothic art and i love the style. even though it looks dark and gloomy, but i think it's a very beautiful scene. also, i've seen many movies about the middle ages have gothic architecture. I think many universities in the USA have a gothic style, as luke mentioned. I think the buildings in "Harry Potter" also has a gothic style.

i didn't get to mention this in class but when i was in middle school, i was EVEN MORE NEGATIVE than i am now. anyways, i was always upset and moody and depressed. eventually kids started calling me a goth and then emo. hearing that, i kind of started to live up to that. i would dress up in all black and wear dark make up. although i didn't continue because i was lazy. STEPHEN IS MY WITNESS!!

When i lived in my country there was a catholic church few blocks away from my house, it looked pretty creepy and there always was playing creepy song. Anyway it was gothic because it was big and had stain glass windows and pointy arcs.

I'm sure I've seen a lot of things that belong to the Gothic style. But I can't think of anything that really came into my mind. I really want to share a game called The God of War series, which has a main character called Kronos that goes against the gods. There might be some gargoyles within the game though I'm not sure. I know for a fact that the game contains a lot of dark creatures and things that represent gothic style.

I think I've seen a lot of Gothic style architecture but I can't think of any specific examples. I believe that many buildings around the world are affected by the Gothic style like the churches. I would like to look at those buildings more closely!

When I lived in the states, I saw a few cathedrals with the gothic style windows and the stained glass windows. I think I saw a lot of gothic architecture on religious buildings or with anything related to religion and stuff like that. I'm sure they have it is other places too though like that building with the gothis roof that Ms. Boyd showed us in class

I saw Gothic architectures at church (Especially in Europe and some in Korea) and in movies such as Harry Potter (including ones that are related to Medieval Europe).

I went on a trip to France, Europe and visited the famous cathedral, Notre Dame. There were gargoyles on the top of the building. I couldn't see them very clearly but assumed that they looked very gothic and scary.

My church is a little gothic. In our church, there is a picture of jesus ascending to heaven. But this picture is made out of different colors and pictures of glasses, which is totally gothic. When i saw the picture that ms boyd showed us about a building with different colors and pieces of glasses, it instantly reminded me of my church, which has the exact same thing but different picture.

I've seen many Gothic stuff... Especially when i was watching Dr.Who hahaha they once had a gargoyle too. Also, in real life, I visited many churches when i was in Houston. During those visits, I've seen many Gothic things; the windows particularly or the pointy top. Now im thinking that it's kind of intresting how most of the churches i visited are very much related to Gothic things.
